My main duties includes; obtaining quotations from various suppliers for Electrical and Mechanical equipment (parts), raising of purchase orders on computer system (Syspro). Following up on outstanding orders, making sure that all supplier invoices are processed for payments, and that the procurement function is executed. My duties also includes document control within our department. Making sure that all suppliers comply with the company requirement as well as requesting all relevant documents from all our suppliers. Stock Control and stock management formed part of my responsibilities as I had to control the issuing and receiving of spare parts as well as perform stock takes on a monthly basis.

My Responsibilities are but not limited to obtain quotations and source material and equipment locally and internationally for Marine & Engineering Industries. Placing order with local and international suppliers. Generating purchase orders on Syspro system and procuring the correct required items for projects within a given time frame. Following up on outstanding orders. Ensuring supplier remittances are being processed timeously by finance. I am also involved in negotiating prices and lead times, ensuring project targets and milestones are met within accordance to on time procuring of goods and services. I am also involved with suggesting and implementing cost savings strategies and ideas, procedures that may help with the growth and success of the organization.
