Key function: Lead and manage the Buy Better Spend Better Program within Kumba Iron Ore. Management of multiple (>30) cost savings initiatives in parallel to identify, enable and deliver savings. Application of price, consumption, efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation levers to eliminate wastage. Strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, contractor performance management (CPM), logistics and inventory operations across mining value chain. Key project: Tswelelopele (Moving forward) “Buy Better, Spend Better” transformation and continuous improvement program consisting of demand and supply side interventions to reduce costs and improve efficiencies, categories include fuel, tyres, MRO spares, dust suppression, outsourced services amongst others.
