About Candidate
As a qualified industrial engineer, I observe processes and find ways to improve them. I find joy in studying and understanding system intricacies, whether it is technical, social, political, environmental – or often all of the above combined – and then move this system towards an optimised state to add value to the bottom line.
Kurt Lewin said: “You cannot fully understand a system, until you try and change it”. In these exact moments during change, we often learn most about the process at hand. My work experience of 5 ½ years in business improvement, combined with the successful application of agile project execution methodologies, have not only taught me how to cope with these uncertainties, but flourish in unpredictable environments.
Even though I have a deeply analytical mind, I am a team player at heart and have strong inter-personal skills. I am good at facilitating, conflict resolution and finding ways to move forward through adversity. I have a servant-leadership style, work well with people across all business levels and value good relationships with colleagues, clients and peers.
In my next capacity, I look forward to learn a new environment, grow my current skill-set and apply myself to be a hard-working asset to the team.

Work & Experience
I assisted in setting up a wine cellar, focusing on facility layout, organising & categorising equipment & cooling system installation. Once the cellar was established, I was part of the team that processed 45 tons of grapes to make wine, while applying continuous improvement techniques. Additionally, I created a personal wine brand to export and sell wine
By taking a sabbatical, I volunteered services in various industries in Southern Africa, such as conservation, farming on a smallholding, horticulture, hospitality, micro-brewing, and palliative care at an NGO. I gained invaluable practical experience while extending and diversifying my current network, building everlasting business and personal relationships. A few highlights include: - Co-designing and building a playground in Lesotho, mostly making use of reclaimed material; - Cycling 1300+ km through Namibia.
I coordinated product development of a mining app through its life cycle: Product vision definition, requirement documentation, backlog prioritisation, vendor management, Minimum Viable Product development & testing, solution architecture, increment / feature development, implementation and roll-out across 3 mines. To facilitate successful app roll-out, I conducted the following change management: Awareness & communication across all business levels per mine, developed training material & facilitated training of 200+ employees, managed adoption & data quality tracking. Additionally, I formed part of Sasol Mining’s digital transformation team who conducted workshops to develop business specific digital strategies, launched an in-house up-skilling program to fast-track report digitalization in SharePoint & PowerBI, optimised business & data flow processes and conducted agile coaching & awareness.
While completing my graduate development program, a few highlights were: - Managing various continuous improvement projects in Operations, Information Management, Asset Management, Health & Safety and Human Resources; - Building a simulation model of the HR process to enable Employment Equity target compliance as specified by the Mining Charter; - Optimising warehouse processes and forklift movement in the central fabrication workshop, directly resulting in an annual cost saving of R300 000+; - Designing the underground layout of a new mine, based on production, services & logistical requirements.
I studied & documented the implementation, improvement and management of the Owner Driver model, a unique transport logistics solution. I also acted as a consultant, mapping the downstream supply chain & distribution model of a packaging firm to enable process optimization.
