I wish to apply for the Safety officer as I have always had an interest and passion in the Safety Management field and as for my qualifications I have obtained certificates for safety that are as follows: Advanced H.I.R.A, Advanced Incident Investigation, OHS Act and Construct Regulation, Shepp Representative, Basic Fire Extinguisher handling, First Aid Level 1 and 2, NOSA Ashepp, ISO 14001:2004(Environment Management Systems), ISO 9001:2008(Quality Management System), OHSAS 18001:2007(Health and safety Management Systems), Introduction to Samtrac and Samtrac and a minimum experience of more than 5 years working experience in the mechanical, electrical, civil and petrochemical sector.

 

My responsibilities where to overseeing of all safety reps, conduction and submitting daily site inspections, incident/ accident investigations and reporting there-off, Legal compliance ( Safety talks and Daily Safety Task inspections, attend safety meetings, attend site walks with SHE Officers, co-ordination of PPE on site , safe working of all plant and equipment, booking of training , reviewing risk assessments and following up by implementing the reviewed risk assessments, near miss reports and assist the appointed supervisor in ensuring that all applicable safety requirements are adhere to on the project. Assisting with Pre-Shutdown projects (Charlie 1 Landfill Optimisation

Project and 72” Valve Replacement Project) as the Client Safety Officer

representing the client Sasol Group Technology to their Principle

contractor and Sub-contractor in compliance and adherence as per Client

SHE Specification and the OHS Act. Assisting in completion of my

designated shutdown projects called H-Pierce Section replacement, PSV

20” line train A and B replacement and Super Heated Steam 10” and 6”

line replacement projects before commissioning. Conducting Shutdown

Daily Reports that includes Site inspection, housekeeping, and

completing Key undesirable Events (KUES) and making sure that the

principle contractor together with the sub-contractors do submit their

daily reports for the above mention shutdown projects. Calculating man

power, hours and the accumulative hours worked for the projects.

Conduct daily SHE site performance audits and assisting in conducting

SHE file Audits and review as per client SHE file specification,

assisting in conducting construction SHE checklist for Site

Establishment (Monthly) together with the infield verification task risk

assessment audit protocol (Monthly) for all the projects.

 

I am also registered with the SACPCMP council as a registered construction safety officer as it is a requirement for every SHE Officer to be registered.
