T
Top 15 Loeries & Woolworths Student Bootcamp 2021
A 5 week Mentorship programme that had over 60 students from different institutions across the country under the guidance of 5 industry mentors, in which every student showcased their best works from their portfolios . My mentor was Thandolwethu Sekoko, the creative director from VYML&R, SA. Throughout the programme, I received great expert advice on what brands are looking for when viewing a portfolio, how best to present to an audience and how to sell myself as a young creative. This was a fantastic opportunity and glimpse into the real world and further encouraged me as an upcoming designer. This was the first time my work I could tell the stories behind my creations and it was viewed by industry experts on how to further refine and hone my skills. I made to the top 15 (top 3 based off the 5 teams) and continued to showcase my work to be part of the Top final 3. Unfortunately, I did not make to the Top final 3 but this was the best experience I've ever had to experience and I learnt so much from other students and how they conceptualise their worlds through design and art.
