About Candidate

My unique mix of expertise of 16 years is in the property and infrastructure sectors, in both the private and public sectors, and of both a technical and financial nature.

I have direct experience in finance and investment at a national level, as Nedbank’s ‘Senior Relationship and Project Oversight Manager’ for 5 years, in the Affordable Housing business unit (with a book of R1.2bn). Therefore, I have direct experience in banking, feasibility studies, financial modelling, negotiation, deal making, credit analysis, legal and administration processes, monitoring and disbursements.

Initially I transitioned from architectural design work into development management, gaining skills in the planning and implementation of multiple property and infrastructure projects, and in appointing and leading professional teams and contractors.  This experience is complemented by a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and a Post-Grad Diploma in Property Development and Management. The technical background became an asset in my role at Nedbank in assessing and structuring deals, and managing risk during the term of the loan.

My career has involved a wide range of stakeholder management at various levels in both public and private sectors. I have reported at both operational and executive management levels, to key internal and external stakeholders to the organisation, and directly to clients during my independent consulting period.

I have an understanding and appreciation of business strategy and operations through my business administration studies, and through engagement and reporting up to executive level. Additionally, I completed twelve months of business executive coaching with an accredited business executive coach through Nedbank Limited. This enhanced my awareness and insight in achieving business objectives for the organization, and in leadership and personal development.

In May 2016 I changed from being an employee to be an independent consultant to the Nedbank Affordable Housing Unit and its clients. This change enabled me to independently pursue more diverse work for career development and completing my MBA.

The work I do with SAPOA and UCT business school has gained me wider valuable networks with leaders in the property industry, knowledge of property sector market changes, and executive level training for advanced expertise in the sector.

The property and infrastructure consulting environment speaks to my business acumen, commercial awareness, strong interpersonal abilities, and problem-solving orientation.

I believe the technical and financial diversity of my expertise is a unique value add that provides strategic leadership and visionary thinking, complimented by the in-depth understanding of the technical nature of project development, investment and financing.
