Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the digital age? Are you driven by the idea of connecting people to the limitless possibilities of the internet, especially those who need it the most?

We are on a mission to close the digital divide by providing free Wi-Fi access through our innovative content platform. Imagine a world where people can stay connected, learn, work, and be entertained during their daily commute on buses and taxis. We are turning this vision into a reality.

As a Marketing Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital inclusion. Your creative strategies and marketing prowess will help us reach and engage with all internal and external stakeholders, including media partners, industry associations, and content producers. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a movement that empowers our country’s most disadvantaged people by granting them access to the internet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute marketing plans aligned with company goals and target audience.
  • Plan, execute, and analyse multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, email marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Collaborating closely with Development, Project Management, Design & User Experience, Account Management, and cross-functional teams to gather insights and align content initiatives within the platform’s strategic goals.
  • Oversee the design team responsible for creating visuals and creative assets for marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the marketing budget effectively to maximise ROI.
  • Organise and participate in promotional activities, including events and trade shows.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to the senior management team, detailing the progress of marketing initiatives and achieving set targets.
  • Sebenza, as a content aggregator, would require this role to manage relationships with content clients and producers and effectively address their needs.
  • Curate and review content submissions for quality and relevance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for content curation, staying current with industry trends and Kasi pop culture to provide users with captivating experiences.
  • To optimise user engagement and satisfaction, maintain a thorough understanding of the platform’s content ecosystem, including micro-apps and content delivery methods.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement based on user engagement and feedback.
  • Facilitate and organise events and other promotional activities to promote the company and its products/services.
  • Collaborate with the Account Management team to tailor content offerings to clients’ objectives and preferences.
  • Identify media opportunities, pitch advertorial ideas, and manage public relations efforts to enhance the brand’s reputation and reach within the industry.
  • Craft compelling narratives that convey the company’s message effectively.
  • Act as a point of contact for content-related inquiries from internal teams and external partners.
  • Stay updated on digital media and content management technologies, suggesting innovative strategies.
  • Utilise marketing analytics for data-driven decision-making in content strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth research on the public transport sector in South Africa to create relevant content.
  • Manage the website content and optimize user experience and SEO.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing communication strategies that ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Leverage data and insights to refine integrated marketing communication strategies.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Social Media, or Digital Marketing.
  • The ideal candidate should be entrepreneurially orientated and a big-picture/strategic thinker.
  • Strong passion and holistic understanding of Kasi culture.
  • Proven experience in content management, curation, and strategy within a digital platform or similar industry.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in multi-media design tools and proven track record in graphic design and branding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with content marketing principles and digital content trends.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
